A hole in my PR strategy….

The below is not based on any real conversations, but only a continuation of an earlier post about whether consultancies should be pitching social media as a separate solution to traditional media relations.

I can’t see how its right, given that the core of how we communicate these days is digital media-centric.

Here’s an ode to this problem:

There’s a hole in your PR Strategy, dear client, dear client

There’s a hole in you PR Strategy, dear client, dear client, a hole

With what should I plug it dear agency, dear agency

With what should I plug it dear agency, with what?

With Social Media dear client, dear client

With Social Media dear client, with social media!

What’s that dear agency dear agency

What’s that dear agency dear agency, what’s that?

Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Pintrest and stuff dear client, dear client

Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Pintrest and stuff dear client, loads of stuff!

What for do I need it dear agency, dear agency

What for do I need it dear agency, dear agency, what for?

Because everyone is using it, dear client, dear client

Because everyone is using it, dear client, dear client, everyone uses it!

So do it, dear agency dear agency

So do it, dear agency dear agency, do it!

Ah, but you need to pay me more, dear client dear client

Ah, but you need to pay me more, dear client dear client, pay me more!

But there’s a hole in my budget, dear agency dear agency

But there’s a hole in my budget, dear agency, a hole!

Then ask for more dear client, dear client

Then ask for more dear client, ask for more!

How do I justify dear agency, dear agency

How do I justify dear agency, how to request?

Say everyone is using it more than traditional media, than traditional media

Say everyone is using it more than traditional media, ask for more!

Then there’s a hole in your argument dear agency, dear agency

There’s a hole in your argument, dear agency a hole

Huh? what are you saying dear client, dear client?

Huh? what are you saying dear client, ???????

If your usual job aint working, dear agency, dear agency

If your usual job aint working, then stop and I’ll hire someone else…

Ohhh… erm…. you still need traditional media dear client dear client

Ohhh… erm…. you still need traditional media dear client dear client, essential in fact mission critical I’d say…

Then why do social media, dear agency, dear agency

Then why do social media, dear agency, dear agency, why?

Cos there’s a hole in your PR strategy dear client dear client…

Cos there’s a hole in your PR strategy dear client dear client a hole…
