MEPRA answers GRI call to promote sustainability to members

The Middle East PR Association and the Global Reporting Initiative have agreed to work together to promote sustainability among Arab-based PR, event management and content companies. This follows the GRI’s call to action for Associations to bridge the gap and help advocate for a brighter tomorrow.

MEPRA is the first PR Association worldwide to partner with the GRI, an organisation which is mapped to the United Nations Environment Program and which counts 30,000 practioners worldwide as contributing to its success.

Earlier this year MEPRA alerted its membership to the Media Sector Supplement guidelines launched in May. It also shared details on the Event Management Supplement earlier in January. MEPRA wholly supports the GRI in its efforts to promote transparency and accountability from content producing companies as this helps to prevent damage to the reputation of all honest organisations working in these sectors.

As part of the agreement MEPRA will work with MCI to organise a sustainability conference in Dubai to promote GRI and its two PR/communications-related supplements.
